BKSA Kitesurf Schools & Clubs in the UK – Facilities & Community

BKSA Kitesurf Schools & Clubs in the UK with Facilities and Community

When choosing a BKSA kitesurf school, it’s about more than just learning to ride. The best centres combine experienced instruction with facilities, a strong social scene, and a setup that makes you want to spend time there on and off the water.

All of the schools below are BKSA-approved schools and Instructor Training Centres. They have changing facilities, toilets, and hot showers, are built around strong and welcoming communities, and teach using top-quality, modern equipment from leading brands such as Duotone. They also actively run club socials and kitesurf holidays abroad, giving riders the chance to progress and travel together.

These are a few UK kitesurf schools and clubs we know personally and genuinely respect, each offering a slightly different experience depending on what you’re looking for.

Northern Watersports, Liverpool, Merseyside

Run by Adam and Craig, Northern Watersports is a watersports hub in the North of the UK. The main beach club and clubhouse is based at Wallasey, providing a social base for lessons, training, retail, and the wider community.

Their dedicated wingfoil school operates out of West Kirby Marine Lake, which is also well known as a UK speed spot. It attracts riders focused on flat-water performance as well as those progressing in winging.

The centre is seasonal and open from April to October, with a strong focus on progression, training, and community. Wallasey is also just a ten-minute train journey into Liverpool city centre, making it a great option for a long weekend kitesurf or wing trip when the forecast lines up.

If you live north of the Wall or are planning a visit, Northern Watersports is a great place to learn and ride.

Best suited for riders wanting a full watersports hub, strong retail support, wingfoiling and speed riding at West Kirby, and a sociable beach-club setup at Wallasey.

The Beach Watersports, Littlehampton, West Sussex

Run by Emma and Mikey, The Beach Watersports is based at The Beach Littlehampton.

The centre is part of The Beach Littlehampton, a seafront venue with indoor and outdoor spaces plus a rooftop terrace, offering food and space to relax right on the beach. It makes it an easy place to spend time before or after a session, whatever the weather.

The centre is excellent for beginners, with a welcoming and supportive atmosphere and a very friendly kite community. Regular club socials, monthly meet-ups, and organised trips abroad make it easy to get involved and progress alongside others.

For riders looking to push their skills further, the club also runs pro coaching clinics with Lewis Crathern, giving members the chance to train with one of the UK’s most experienced and accomplished riders.

It is also a great place to bring the family, with plenty to do even on non-windy days. The centre is home to UK kitesurfing stars Lewis Crathern, Aaron Hadlow, and Toby Raw, which adds to the inspiration and buzz around the club. The Beach Watersports operates year-round.

Best suited for beginners, improvers, families, and anyone looking for a strong community and a true beach-lifestyle club.

The Kitesurf Centre, Camber Sands, East Sussex

Led by Brad and Ian, The Kitesurf Centre is one of the longest-running kitesurf schools in the UK, with a long-established presence in the South East, located between Kent and East Sussex.

Alongside kitesurfing, they also offer kite buggying and landboarding. These are brilliant ways to build kite control, confidence, and awareness before getting on the water, and they also give people something fun and valuable to do on the beach. For many riders, it’s a natural step into kitesurfing.

It’s a strong local scene, and you will often spot UK pro rider Max Tullett on the water when he’s not away competing or travelling. It’s great to see him representing the UK at major kitesurfing events.

As a long-standing BKSA Instructor Training Centre, it plays an important role in developing both riders and instructors in the South East. The centre operates year-round.

Best suited for riders in the South East looking for an established school with strong beach-based progression and multiple disciplines on land and water.

Easyriders, Poole Harbour, Dorset

Run by Andy and the crew, Easyriders is a long-established centre based in Poole Harbour, Dorset, right next to Sandbanks. Sandbanks is one of the most well-known sandy beaches and tourist destinations in the South West and is well worth a visit in its own right.

Easyriders is famously foil-focused, covering a wide range of disciplines including kite foiling, parawing, downwind foiling, and e-foiling. It attracts riders who enjoy progressing across multiple disciplines within one setup and being part of a strong club environment.

The centre operates year-round, making it a solid choice for consistent training and progression throughout the seasons.

Best suited for riders wanting variety, progression into foiling, and a destination that combines watersports with one of the South West’s most popular beach locations.

Final thoughts

There’s no single best kitesurf school. The right one depends on what you want from the experience and where you’re based. What all of these clubs share is quality instruction, excellent facilities, strong communities, and opportunities that go far beyond lessons, from club socials to riding together abroad.

If you’re choosing where to learn, look for a BKSA school that works for your location and fits your lifestyle. And if you’re planning any UK road trips, we’d recommend visiting any of these clubs. Each one is well worth a stop, even if you’re just passing through.
